Urban Sophistication at the Beach (Vacation Rental)
Although it’s only a few years old, this condo needed a little bit of sophistication and an infusion of color. Its light cabinets with yellow undertones and granite counter tops were in good shape, so we couldn’t justify changing them…..which meant working with them. So the color scheme called for some grey tones to cool them down. The grey/brown tile plank flooring does that – plus it’s hardy.
Aqua blue and plenty of white is a good compliment to the yellows to create a fresh, airy feeling. The sleek stainless steel and glass accents bring a contemporary vibe to the space. At certain times of the day the condo can be dark, so using mirrors and glass reflects the light from the wall of windows around the room.
The blues in the color scheme are carried into the large master bedroom and bathroom. We wanted to keep in mind that we were only three blocks from the ocean and use it as inspiration without becoming too “beachy.”
The guest bedroom and bath at the other end of the condo have a fresh, sunny feel…..again calling on bright, light accents.
It is California living – sun and water in an urban setting.
